Basic arithmetic concepts

A 1:
If A is the solution set of the equation x2-4=0 and B is the solution set of the equation x2-3x+2=0, how many elements are in the union of the two sets?

A 2:
What is the sum of the product and quotient of 7 and 7 ?

A 3:
What is the product of all the integers from -3 to 6 ?

Answer1:
Solving each equation, you get A={-2,2} and B={1,2}.
Therefore AUB={-2,1,2}. There are three elements in the union.
Answer2:
Product: 7×7=49. Quotient: 7÷7=1. Sum=49÷1=50.
So the answer is 50.
Answer3:
Before reaching to your calculator, think. You are asked for the product of 10 numbers, one of which is 0. Then the product is 0.
